Privacy Policy

What we collect when you buy our data, how we use it, and who processes it on our behalf. Last updated: August 3, 2026.

This policy explains what Provenance Capital (“we,” “us”) collects when you browse this site or buy one of our datasets or reports, how we use it, and who helps us deliver the service. Provenance Capital is a data and research service — we are not a lender, mortgage broker, real estate broker, or consumer reporting agency. See our licensing & disclosures page.

Provenance Capital is a brand operated by KUROGIRI LLC, a New York limited liability company.

Information we collect from buyers

When you purchase a dataset or a single-property report, we collect:

  • your email address, so we can deliver what you bought and send your receipt;
  • purchase details — what you ordered, the download token we issue for it, and timestamps for the order;
  • payment confirmation from our processor. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

We also receive standard technical data your browser sends (IP address, user agent) and basic server logs, and — only with your consent — site analytics described below.

What we deliberately do not collect

We do not operate a financing application. We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, date of birth, bank account or card numbers, tax returns, financial statements, or loan-application information. Nothing on this site is a loan application, and there is no borrower intake form. We collect the minimum needed to sell you a data product and deliver it.

About the product data (it is not personal data you gave us)

The datasets and reports we sell describe properties and business-entity owners, compiled from New York City public records — the Department of Finance ACRIS database, the Department of City Planning PLUTO dataset, and DOF valuations — via the NYC Open Data API. That content is information sourced from public records; it is not personal data we collected from you as a buyer.

We withhold individual (natural-person) owner names — we surface business-entity owners and the properties themselves. Our data and reports are not“consumer reports” under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and may not be used for any FCRA-covered purpose. See our disclosures for the full statement.

How we use your information

  • to deliver the dataset or report you purchased;
  • to send your download or report link and your receipt;
  • to respond to your questions and provide support;
  • to detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security issues;
  • to keep records and comply with legal and tax obligations;
  • to measure and improve how the site works.

We do notsell buyers' personal information, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.

Service providers we rely on

We use a small set of third-party processors to run the service. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy; we receive only confirmation and limited transaction metadata.
  • Supabase — the database where we store orders (buyer email, purchase details, download token, timestamps).
  • Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES) — transactional email, used to send your download/report link and receipt.
  • Vercel — hosting and delivery of the site.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies for basic site function. Beyond that, and only with your consent, we use analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Non-essential analytics load only if you acceptthe consent banner; if you decline, they are not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. We do not use these tools to identify you personally, and we do not sell the data they generate. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

How long we keep it

We retain order records — buyer email, what was purchased, the download token, and timestamps — for as long as needed to deliver and support your purchase and to meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations. You can ask us to delete your data sooner, except where we are required to keep it.

Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and stored in an access-controlled database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — which is part of why we collect as little as we do.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, and ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing privacy@provenancecapital.nyc. You can also opt out of non-essential cookies through the consent banner. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable state privacy law.

Children

This site and our products are directed to businesses and professionals, not to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes take effect when posted with an updated date above, and your continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance.
